Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Neil Lennon has been dissecting Liverpool’s performance against AC Milan and the impact of the young players in the team.
The Reds beat AC Milan 2-1 on Tuesday with a team that featured a number of yonung talents.
Tyler Morton and Neco Williams started while Connor Bradley and Max Woltman came off the bench later in the game.
It was a proud moment for all three men, and Lennon believes that Klopp will have been delighted with the young players’ mentality as they pushed on in the second-half to secure the win.
What’s been said about Liverpool?
Lennon was very impressed by Liverpool and their young talents.
“They were excellent. There were a couple of young players who fit right into the formation and the structure of the team and after half-time they were absolutely relentless in wanting to get that second goal against the team that are top of Serie A,” Lennon said.
“It speaks volumes for the mentality of the team, not just with the senior players, but with the young players as well and the manager will be absolutely delighted with everything that came out of that.”

Mentality monsters
Klopp once described his Liverpool team as mentality monsters, and it seems as though that ethos has filtered through to the U23s.
Morton, Williams, Bradley and Morton could have taken it easy against Milan knowing that they had secured top spot in their Champions League group, but instead, they gave it their all to secure yet another victory in Europe.
The future looks bright at Liverpool, that’s for sure.
