Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that he believes Everton may just finish above Liverpool if both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin fire between now and the end of the season.
Everton drew level on points with Liverpool last night after beating Southampton 1-0 at Goodison Park.
Crucially, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have a game in hand over their local rivals though.
And Crooks feels that if Everton’s strikers can continue to find the back of the net, then the blue half of Merseyside could be celebrating at the end of the season.
“Last week I remarked on how Richarlison enjoyed the freedom of playing up front without the support of Dominic Calvert-Lewin,” Crooks said.
“Well the striking partners were reunited against Southampton and Calvert-Lewin played a pivotal role in the Brazilian’s goal.
Everton now sit in seventh, on the same points as Liverpool, with a game in hand. If Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin can recapture the spark they had earlier in the season, Liverpool might find themselves finishing behind their arch rivals. Now wouldn’t that be interesting.”

Calvert-Lewin was certainly Everton’s chief goalscorer early on in the campaign, but it has been Richarlison’s time to shine more recently.
The Brazilian was on the scoresheet again last night, as he scored the only goal of the game against the Saints.
Richarlison now has five league goals to his name this term, while Calvert-Lewin has netted on 13 occasions.
Everton are next in action on Thursday night against struggling West Bromwich Albion, and if they pick up the three points they could move into the top four.
