A wonderful Richarlison assist helped Tottenham Hotspur secure an excellent victory on Sunday.

Spurs edged out Nottingham Forest 2-0 at the City Ground with what was a very hard-fought win for Antonio Conte’s outfit.

Harry Kane completed his brace in the final 10 minutes to make the game safe, heading home a cross from the former Everton attacker.

It was a delicious, outside-of-the-boot ball from the £60 million summer signing at Tottenham and a real example of the sort of ability he can bring this Lilywhites side.

Conte brought off an angry Son Heung-min for the Brazilian with 16 minutes to go.

And according to Clinton Morrison, the Tottenham manager found himself in an argument with his backroom staff in the dugout because he wanted the substitution to happen as soon as possible.

He told BBC Sport briefly: “Conte is arguing with his own coaches because he wants Richarlison on now!”

Richarlison assist

This is a fascinating insight because if Morrison is right, Conte clearly spotted a window of opportunity in which Richarlison could hurt the Reds and he wanted to avail of it as soon as possible.

And given that he set up Kane’s second of the evening, the Italian manager was quite obviously spot on.

It’s frightening to consider the fact that Richarlison still hasn’t started for Tottenham in the Premier League just yet.

This is the sort of game-changing influence that they can call on from off the bench these days and you have to say, Conte’s squad is looking incredible.

This was the North Londoners’ third victory in four Premier League outings, a 2-2 draw at Chelsea two weeks ago being the only blemish.
