Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he believe Chelsea’s front four will be ‘too good’ for Leeds United this weekend.

Leeds travel to Stamford Bridge as the underdogs against Frank Lampard’s high-flying side.

However, the Whites have been in good form themselves of late – after producing impressive displays against Arsenal and Everton.

Leeds should travel to London full of confidence, but Lawrenson fears for their defence against a Chelsea side with so much attacking talent.

“Marcelo Bielsa’s side started the season well, but have had a mixed recent run of results which saw them ship four goals in two successive games,” Lawrenson said.

“I think the quickness of the players among some Premier League sides have caused them problems. The soft centre in this team is defensively.

“The front players for Chelsea will be too good for Leeds, and manager Frank Lampard also has to decide about what to do with his striker Olivier Giroud after he scored four against Sevilla.”

Lampard does rather have an abundance of riches to pick from in attack for Chelsea.

Leeds have looked much more solid at the back since the return of Kalvin Phillips, though.

Leeds looked exposed on the counter attack when Phillips was absent, but they have now kept two clean sheets in their last two matches.

If Leeds were able to pull off an upset and beat Chelsea on Saturday, then they are likely to move into the top half of the Premier League table, which would represent a very bright start to the season after promotion.
