Garth Crooks has raved about Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin on BBC Sport.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion forward was impressed with the display produced by the winger during Newcastle’s 3-0 win against Sheffield United at St. James’ Park on Sunday.

The 23-year-old winger scored in the 55th minute and had a very good game, as the Magpies picked up all three points from the encounter.

Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin was the difference between the two teams. The young Frenchman seems to get better every time I see him.”

Stats

Against United at St. James’ Park on Sunday, Saint-Maximin took one shot which ended in goal, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 79.2%, attempted seven dribbles, and made one tackle, according to WhoScored.

The Frenchman joined Newcastle from French club Nice in the summer of 2019 for an initial transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £16.5 million.
