BBC pundit Savage makes £300 million observation about Tottenham’s team

Robbie Savage was in awe of Tottenham’s performance.

BBC pundit Robbie Savage was highly impressed with Tottenham Hotspur’s performance in their 3-0 win at Everton.

Spurs made light work of the Toffees despite the Merseyside club’s ambitions to really establish themselves as a top side this season.

Everton invested heavily in the summer but were no match for Tottenham, who showed why they should be considered as title contenders.

Harry Kane scored twice and Christian Eriksen once, and pundit Robbie Savage said he felt Spurs looked like a multi-million team.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live’s post-game coverage on (9/9), Savage said: “You would think Spurs had spent £200-300 million.

“They were sensational.”

Savage went onto question whether the £150 million spent by Everton on their squad had put them any closer to the top four, even factoring in Romelu Lukaku’s departure, adding that he felt they were ‘nowhere near’.

Looking at the market value of the players in Tottenham’s side, Savage might not be too far off.

ESPN recently reported a Football Observatory study rated Harry Kane and Dele Alli at a combined £250 million.

Tottenham spent just £5 million on Alli and paid nothing to bring Kane through their youth system.

This summer Spurs spent a total of £75 million but ended it in profit.
