Arsenal’s David Luiz has not had a good week since the Premier League came back, and he has had to take on board more criticism from BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks.

Arsenal were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City just under a week ago, and Luiz’s display in the contest was woeful.

The Brazilian came off the bench and was at fault for two goals against City, and picked up a red card.

Luiz then had to sit and watch his teammates fold against Brighton & Hove Albion, as Arsenal slipped to a 2-1 defeat.

And Crooks, when naming his team of the week, has refused to mention Luiz.

“I don’t even want to talk about David Luiz,” he said.

Crooks went on to say that he felt that Kevin de Bruyne had dismantled Arsenal last Wednesday.

“He strutted around the pitch like he owned it, cutting Arsenal to shreds with every pass,” the pundit added.

Luiz could return for Arsenal on Thursday, when the Gunners are back in action against Southampton.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be desperate to claim the three points at St. Mary’s, otherwise there is a real danger that they could slip into the bottom half.
