Mark Lawrenson is backing West Ham United to beat Burnley 2-0 this evening.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks West Ham United will beat Burnley 2-0 at the London Stadium this evening.
The Hammers have endured a dismal start to the season, winning just three of their 15 games to open the campaign, and sit just one point clear of the relegation zone.
On Sunday, Slaven Bilic – who has been under intense pressure in recent weeks – picked up an impressive point as West Ham drew 2-2 away at title-chasing Liverpool.

Tonight, Bilic will be looking to pick up a vital win, as they host a Burnley side who beat Bournemouth in an entertaining 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Clarets have impressed at Turf Moor, winning five of their nine home games this term, but they have the worst away record in the Premier League having picked up just one point and scored only one goal.
Manager Sean Dyche will be keen to pick up his first away win of the season tonight, especially as they travel to the London Stadium, where West Ham have struggled to settle so far, winning only two of their seven home games this season.

Ahead of tonight’s game, pundit Mark Lawrenson has offered his prediction, telling BBC Sport that he thinks West Ham will pick up a 2-0 win over Burnley this evening.
Lawrenson thinks that West Ham have a great chance to drag themselves away from the relegation zone given that they take on Burnley and Hull in their next two games, and with Andy Carroll returning, the ex-Liverpool hero is optimistic about the immediate future for the Hammers.
Lawrenson does though have some concern about Burnley over-reliance on their home form, stating that Dyche’s side need to improve on the road – but won’t take any points from their trip to the London Stadium.
“West Ham have been on a poor run but picked up a good point at Liverpool on Sunday,” said Lawrenson. “I don’t see Slaven Bilic’s side surging up the table but their next two games – at home to Burnley and Hull – should give them a chance to move away from the relegation zone. The Hammers also have players coming back to fitness all the time – Andy Carroll has come off the bench in their past two matches and will be ready for a start soon.”
“Burnley’s home form is still very strong, and they are clearly relying on that to keep them out of trouble. But they just cannot win away and have taken only one point from six games on the road this season. I don’t see them improving that on Wednesday night,” he added.
