West Ham United take on Swansea City in the Premier League this afternoon.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks West Ham United will claim a 2-0 home win over Swansea City this afternoon.
The Hammers have endured a tricky start to the season, having lost their first three games before beating Huddersfield Town and drawing with West Bromwich Albion.
Last weekend, Slaven Bilic’s men lost 3-2 at home to Tottenham Hotspur, and Bilic now faces a huge afternoon as questions continue to be asked about his future.
Another defeat could spell the end of Bilic’s time as West Ham manager, with a home win needed against Swansea City this afternoon.
The Swans lost 2-1 at home to Watford last weekend, meaning Paul Clement also needs a victory having won just once in the first six games of the season.
Swansea are still adjusting to life without Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente, with replacements Renato Sanches and Wilfried Bony yet to really hit the ground running.
Now, ahead of today’s game, pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks West Ham were somewhat flattered by the 3-2 defeat to Tottenham, even if they did get themselves back into the game well.
Lawrenson added that he is a bit worried about Swansea given their recent form, and is backing West Ham to claim all three points in a 2-0 home win today.
“West Ham did well to get back into the game in their 3-2 defeat by Tottenham last week, but the scoreline probably flattered the Hammers a bit,” said Lawrenson.
“Swansea also lost, at home to Watford, and I am a bit worried about them. The Swans look flat going forward, and Renato Sanches has not supplied the spark people expected. On top of that, they have been poor at the back too,” he added.
