Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will beat Millwall 2-0 in today’s FA Cup meeting between the two sides.

Spurs advanced into the quarter finals by beating Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage, building on wins over Aston Villa and Wycombe Wanderers in previous rounds.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men won their last Premier League game with a 3-2 victory over Everton last weekend, as striker Harry Kane continues to impress in front of goal.

The England international has now hit 12 goals in last ten games in all competitions, and he will be hoping to add to his tally against one of his former clubs.

Kane joined Millwall on loan in 2012, and will now be hoping to end the Lions’ superb run in the FA Cup so far this season, with the League One club pulling off a number of surprises this term.

Neil Harris’ men have beaten three Premier League clubs this term, knocking Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester City out of the competition on their way to the quarter-finals.

Millwall are chasing a play-off spot in League One and currently sit sixth in the table, but pundit Mark Lawrenson thinks their FA Cup journey will end at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that whilst Millwall have been impressive, they will struggle to cope with Tottenham, noting that Harry Kane and Dele Alli have a ‘very special’ relationship, predicting a 2-0 win for the hosts.

“Millwall are flying in League One and have not lost any of their past 17 games in all competitions,” said Lawrenson. “The Lions also went nine games without conceding a goal before MK Dons found the net against them on Saturday. They have already beaten three Premier League teams – Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester – to get this far, so it is fitting that now they have landed one of the really big boys.”

“I think this is where the Lions’ run ends, though. Spurs striker Harry Kane cannot stop scoring and his partnership with Dele Alli looks very special. Tottenham will just be too strong for them,” he added.
