Mark Lawrenson is backing Spurs to beat Chelsea 2-1 this evening.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will beat Chelsea 2-1 at White Hart Lane this evening.
Spurs head into this evening’s game with their London rivals having excelled in recent weeks, as the 4-1 victory over Watford on Sunday was their fourth win in a row.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are finally starting to find their best form, as those four wins have seen Tottenham score 13 goals and concede just three.
General View of White Hart Lane
Spurs have lost just twice in the Premier League this season, and the first of those defeats came away at Chelsea towards the end of November.
Just as Chelsea ended Tottenham’s title hopes at Stamford Bridge in May, they ended Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season, only adding more spice to their rivalry.
These two London sides have a real hatred for each other, and whilst Spurs enter the game in great form, Chelsea are the team to beat in the Premier League now.

With 13 straight victories in the Premier League, Chelsea haven’t lost a league game since their last trip to North London, which was a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal on September 24th.
Ahead of tonight’s game, pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham will get revenge on Chelsea by ending their winning run with a 2-1 victory.
Lawrenson believes Spurs have found some momentum, and will be too much for Chelsea this time around – but was left wondering just why the two sides have such a fierce rivalry.
“Tottenham were impressive at Watford and they seem to have found a momentum now with Harry Kane and Dele Alli finding form,” said Lawrenson. “I have a feeling they will halt the Chelsea surge which has been so impressive. To win 13 games in a row is just fantastic but Chelsea have some hard fixtures on the horizon.”
“This fixture always leaves me wondering why the fans hate each other so much? They seem to detest the opposing club. Why I don’t know, but it will make for a spicy atmosphere,” he added.
