BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson thinks Sunderland will beat Tottenham 1-0 tonight.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he think Sunderland will spring a huge surprise and beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Stadium of Light this evening.
The Black Cats had a free weekend given that they’re already out of the FA Cup, and manager David Moyes will be hoping that the break has reinvigorated some of his players.

Last time out, Sunderland lost 2-0 away at West Bromwich Albion, and manager David Moyes has since been looking to add new faces to his squad – and they’re all players who have worked with Moyes at Everton.
Centre back Joleon Lescott, left back Bryan Oviedo and midfielder Darron Gibson have all joined the Black Cats, and could make their debuts against Spurs tonight.
Tottenham head to Wearside having squeezed past Wycombe Wanderers with a 4-3 FA Cup win on Saturday afternoon, where Mauricio Pochettino rested a host of key players – and almost paid the price.

In the league, Spurs are in sensational form. Last time out, they drew 2-2 at Manchester City to make it just one defeat in the last nine Premier League outings.
Spurs beat Sunderland 1-0 earlier this season, with Harry Kane scoring the winning goal, and they’ll be hoping for a similar outcome as they head to the North East tonight.
However, pundit Mark Lawrenson believes that Pochettino’s rotation means that some first team players may find it difficult to adjust to coming in and out of the team, and has told BBC Sport that he is predicting a shock 1-0 win or Sunderland.
“Tottenham were given a scare by Wycombe in the FA Cup but then Mauricio Pochettino did make a few changes with this game in mind,” said Lawrenson. “They are on a great run, but I actually think it will be difficult for Spurs to adjust when most of their regulars come back into the team.”
“Sunderland did not have a game at the weekend so they will be ready for them, and I am going for a bit of a shock result here,” he added.
