Mark Lawrenson is backing Leicester City to beat Everton 2-1 this afternoon.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Leicester City will beat Everton 2-1 at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.
Hosts Leicester were always going to find it difficult to retain the Premier League title after such a shock triumph last season, but few would have predicted such a struggle.
The Foxes currently sit 15th in the Premier League title, just three points clear of the relegation zone as Claudio Ranieri’s side have blown hot and cold so far this term.

A rousing 2-2 draw against Stoke City last weekend saw Leicester come back from 2-0 down and a man down to claim a point, but their inconsistency has been clear for all to see this month, having beaten Manchester City 4-2 before losing 1-0 at Bournemouth.
Today, Ranieri will be hoping to finally spark a consistent run of results as they take on a struggling Everton side at the King Power Stadium.

Everton were beaten 1-0 by city rivals Liverpool on Monday evening, with Sadio Mane’s injury-time winner handing the Reds all three points at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have now won just two of their last 12 Premier League games, and Ronald Koeman will be desperate for a response from his struggling players this afternoon.
Ahead of today’s game, pundit Mark Lawrenson has offered his prediction for the game, telling BBC Sport that he thinks Leicester have got a spring in their step again, whilst Everton must give Romelu Lukaku more chances to score, with the ex-Liverpool defender predicting a 2-1 win for Leicester.
“I was there to see Leicester fight back for a draw at Stoke last week, and there was no way that Foxes striker Jamie Vardy deserved his red card,” said Lawrenson. “With or without Vardy on the pitch, Claudio Ranieri’s side looked pretty lively throughout that game, and it looks like they have got the spring back in their step.”
“You could not fault Everton’s effort or application in their derby defeat against Liverpool, it was just their lack of quality in the final third that let them down. They need to give Romelu Lukaku more chances this weekend, but I still fancy the Foxes to come out on top,” he added.
