Leeds United attacker Souleymane Doukara has been playing well this season.

Noel Whelan has praised Leeds United attacker Souleymane Doukara on BBC Sport (19:48).

The former Leeds striker has been impressed with the attitude shown by Doukara this season.

The 25-year-old, who can operate as a striker or as a winger, is playing well at the moment.

The attacker has scored two goals and created seven chances in eight Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

Whelan has praised the attitude shown by Doukara this campaign.

“Doukara’s bought into others’ attitudes,” Whelan told BBC Sport (19:48) following Leeds’s 2-0 victory over Villa at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday evening. “If we had some of the players last season still here, maybe he’d still be in that camp.

“But he’s singing from the same hymn sheet as the winners now, and we have a squad where there are no ringleaders, where everyone works for the good of the team.”

Leeds are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are genuine contenders for the playoffs.

Under head coach Garry Monk, who was appointed in the role in the summer, the players look more confident and are showing a lot of determination.

The West Yorkshire are fourth in the league table at the moment with 32 points from 19 matches.

Leeds are probably exceeding expectations this season, and the fans must be loving it at the moment.

Monk’s side will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion away from home at the American Express Community Stadium in the Championship.
