Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that if Brendan Rodgers joins Tottenham Hotspur then he should bring Jonny Evans with him from Leicester City.

Tottenham have been strongly linked with Rodgers, after sacking Jose Mourinho.

The Leicester boss has so far suggested that he wouldn’t be interested in the move to North London.

However, the Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham still haven’t given up on hiring Rodgers, as they feel he may have a change of heart.

And Crooks feels that if Rodgers does sign for Spurs, then Evans could be a quality addition to the Lilywhites squad.

He said: “It took a goal by Jonny Evans, who is in terrific form at the moment, to salvage a point for the Foxes. If Brendan Rodgers does go to Spurs, he could do a lot worse than take Evans with him.”

Whoever takes over at Tottenham is likely to want to bring in a central defender.

Evans certainly would be an appealing addition for Spurs, if the possibility ever came about.

However, Leicester are likely to be determined to keep hold of the Northern Irish international, who has proven himself as an extremely classy operator over a number of years now.
