Former player and current pundit Martin Keown believes the 1-1 draw between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool was ultimately a fair result in what was an entertaining game, the BBC report.
The Reds headed in to the clash looking for a vast improvement on their 2-0 defeat at Burnley and James Milner’s opener from the penalty spot was deserved after an excellent first-half display.
Spurs came back into it in the second period and equalised via Danny Rose while on top – setting up an intriguing last 20 minutes where both sides felt they could have claimed a winner.
A draw will be seen as a solid result for both sides and the real winners of the day were the neutrals watching on considering the energy and quality displayed by both teams.
Co-commentating for BBC Radio Five Live, Koewn felt the draw was a fair reflection of the game and felt the players from both sides deserved great credit for putting on a quality performance.
“It was end-to-end stuff at the end. There’s a great deal of respect for each other. It seems every time they play each other you can’t pick a winner and I think it’s a fair result,” Keown said.
“It’s still early season and all credit to the players. You’re left wanting more you didn’t want the game to end.”

The draw extends Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the season, yet with only three goals scored in their opening three league matches perhaps supporters would like to see a new attacker arrive before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have taken four points from their first three league games and with six goals conceded, many feel Jurgen Klopp should bring in at least one more defender ahead of the deadline.
