Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to beat Burnley 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will beat Burnley 2-0 at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs bounced back from a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Manchester United by thrashing Hull City 3-0 on Wednesday night thanks to Christian Eriksen’s brace and a goal from Victor Wanyama.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to end the weekend inside the top four, as a win for Spurs and defeat for Manchester City at home to Arsenal would send Tottenham into the Champions League places.
General View of White Hart Lane
Pochettino will want a similar performance as the one which beat Hull City, and they face another team hovering around the relegation zone, as Spurs will host Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
The Clarets lost 1-0 away at West Ham United in midweek, meaning it’s now just one goal and one point picked up on the road by Burnley this season.

Sean Dyche’s men are struggling on the road, and whilst they’ve impressed at home, they must turn things around away from Turf Moor if they are to keep themselves outside of the relegation zone.
A trip to White Hart Lane – where Spurs are yet to lose this season – is hardly the ideal game for Dyche’s side, and pundit Mark Lawrenson thinks Burnley will be on the losing end of another away game.
Lawrenson told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham will win 2-0, as he simply can’t see Burnley scoring a goal – and is expecting a similar outcome to when Spurs beat Hull just days ago.
“Burnley’s form has not got any better of late, and they still only have one goal on the road this season,” said Lawrenson. “We are getting to the stage where I am thinking the score will be ‘Burnley 0’ whenever they are away from home.
“Tottenham were decent against Manchester United without offering much of a threat, but they were too strong for Hull in midweek and I am expecting a similar outcome on Sunday,” he added.
