Chris Sutton has told BBC Sport that there is still no chance that Leeds United will be relegated, even after their defeat to Leicester City last night.

Leeds were beaten 4-1 at home to Leicester and have now picked up just one point from their last three matches at Elland Road.

The defeat has seen them slip down to 12th place in the Premier League table.

But Sutton was still defiant about Leeds’ chances this season, and he thinks Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be in no danger of the drop come the end of the season.

“That was a Jamie Vardy masterclass, he led the line superbly. Leicester sat deep, countered, James Maddison made a huge difference in the second half when he came on and the third goal was devastating, it was such a slick move,” he said.

“It was too much for Leeds after that. Leeds will ultimately be alright this season, they are too good to go down. But it was a really good game of football.”

Sutton’s prediction shows just how well that Leeds have adapted to life back in the top tier.

The Whites may have been beaten last night, but it is important to remember that they are still competing well even with key players out.

Leeds have lost the likes of Rodrigo and Kalvin Phillips to injury, which severely weakens the quality of the team that they can put out.

Leeds are next in action at the weekend, when they will take on Crystal Palace.
