West Ham United won against Sunderland in the Premier League at the weekend.
Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks has written on BBC Sport that he has observed more determination in the West Ham United side.
Crooks made the comments following West Ham’s narrow 1-0 victory over Sunderland at the London Stadium in the Premier League at the weekend.
Winston Reid scored the only goal of the match in the fourth minute of injury time.
Former Tottenham and West Bromwich Albion forward Crooks has included West Ham defender Reid in his BBC Premier League Team of the Week.
The Englishman has also made a positive observation about West Ham, stating that Slaven Bilic’s side look more determined.
“This is the second time in as many weeks that Winston Reid has made my TOTW,” Crooks wrote on BBC Sport. “Last week he battened down the hatches against Crystal Palace and this week he provided the goal that gave a lucky West Ham three points that were so desperately needed.
“In the meantime, the Hammers are still struggling to come to terms with playing in their new stadium.
“That said, I do see a far more determined side these days, prepared to grind out results and not roll over just because things are proving difficult at the moment.”
West Ham appear to be getting into some form, having won their last two Premier League matches.
The Hammers played out a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at the London Stadium in the league at the start of the month.
The London outfit defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park after the international break before getting the better of Sunderland by the same margin at home on Saturday.
West Ham will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Premier League rivals Chelsea at the London Stadium in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
