Michael Brown has praised Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero on BBC Sport for his challenge on Everton defensive midfielder Amadou Onana in the first half of the Premier League game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.
The former Tottenham midfielder was hugely impressed by the tackle made by Spurs centre-back Romero on Onana of Everton.
In the 16th minute of the Premier League match in North London, the 21-year-old Belgium international raced all the way to the byline with a good run down the left.
Romero, though, stopped the youngster from doing any damage with a challenge that blew away by BBC Sport pundit Brown.

Brown said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “This looks like an unbelievable challenge, as good as you would see.
“It clips Onana and goes out of play. You don’t often see a defender take that risk in that situation to wrap his foot across.”

Quality defender
In our opinion, Cristian Romero is one of the best defenders in the Premier League and is a key figure in the Tottenham Hotspur team.
The 24-year-old central defender has been playing well for Spurs this season.
Romero is a very good tackler and does not shy away from making risky challenges.
Tottenham are doing well in the Premier League at the moment and are also performing nicely in the UEFA Champions League.
For Spurs to be successful this season, in our view, Romero will have to be on top of his game throughout.
