Jonathan Leko featured in West Bromwich Albion’s defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League at the weekend.
Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that West Bromwich Albion forward Jonathan Leko does not know when to let the pass go.
The former Republic of Ireland international made the observation during the Premier League game between West Brom and Manchester City at the weekend.
Leko did not start the match at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon, but the 17-year-old forward came on as a substitute in the 51st minute.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson was following the match, and he was impressed with the youngster.
The 59-year-old, though, highlighted a weakness in the game of the England Under-18 international.
“Jonathan Leko is very fast, he’s got the tricks, he just doesn’t know when to let the pass go,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport. “But he looks like a prospect.”

West Brom suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to City at home, thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan (two each).
The Baggies are 15th in the Premier League table at the moment with 10 points from as many matches.
Tony Pulis’s side are just three points above the relegation and are very much in danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
West Brom will return to action next weekend when they take on Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.
