Garth Crooks has praised reported Liverpool target Christian Pulisic on BBC Sport, but he has spotted a problem with the Chelsea star.
Crooks has included Pulisic in his BBC Premier League Team of the Week for scoring twice for Chelsea in their 4-1 win against Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the weekend.
The former Tottenham Hotspur forward, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has pointed out the USA international attacker’s injury problems.
The Daily Mail reported in March that Liverpool are interested in signing the 22-year-old from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2021.
The report claimed interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich as well in the youngster, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder.
Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “I thought his first goal was brilliant and his second brave. For his first, Christian Pulisic picked his spot and put the ball in the only place it could have gone – into the roof of the net.
“As for his second, you can always recognise a goalscorer when he’s prepared to put his body on the line in return for glory. Pulisic did precisely that and received a sore leg for his trouble.
“I am in no doubt that Pulisic is a top-class player and capable of scoring 10-15 goals a season. However, in order to do that you need to be resilient and remain fit, and therein lies Pulisic’s problem – he cannot remain fit for any length of time.”

Should Liverpool be worried?
Pulisic is a quality player who has done well when he has been given a run in the Chelsea team.
The USA international has scored four goals and provided one assist in 12 Premier League starts so far this season, and scored nine goals and gave four assists in 19 league starts in 2019-20, according to WhoScored.
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the American star was on the sidelines between August and October and in November last year, and the youngster was also out of action for 156 days last season due to tear in the abductor muscle.
However, Liverpool should not be worried about Pulisic’s injury problems. After all, such issues happen with a lot of footballers, and the American is a very good player who can only get better.
