BBC pundit has received complaints over how he celebrates Leeds goals

One of the staples of Noel Whelan’s coverage of Leeds United is the passionate way in which he celebrates goals.

Whelan, who works for BBC West Yorkshire sport on matchdays, invariably belts out a prolonged cry of ‘Get in’ whenever his former side score a goal.

But it looks like that’s a thing of the past, starting from this weekend.

Well, the catchphrase remains the same, but the decibel level will be toned down, according to the man himself.

Whelan, who began his career at Leeds and left in 1995, has been getting complaints from other broadcasters over how loud he is in the gantry during his commentary.

Here’s what the pundit wrote on Twitter:

Starting from Saturday, Whelan looks set to offer a more toned-down version for Leeds fans.

But it’s a visit of Manchester City at Elland Road and if Rodrigo were to smash home a 95th-minute winner from 25 yards then maybe Whelan could be forgiven for breaking his promise.
