Leeds United will face Liverpool and Aston Villa in their next two competitive games.
Noel Whelan has told BBC Sport (19:57) that Leeds United should try to win their matches against Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Leeds will take on Premier League club Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening.
The West Yorkshire outfit will then face Steve Bruce’s Villa at Elland Road in the Championship next weekend.

Former Leeds striker Whelan believes that head coach Garry Monk should try to win both of the games.
“Our bench is stronger than it’s ever been,” Whelan told BBC Sport (19:57). “Monk has got them this far with the decisions he’s made – let’s go with him, but I’d like him to go out and try to win both games, Liverpool and Aston Villa. “
Leeds returned to winning ways on Saturday evening, getting the better of Rotherham United 2-1 away from home at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the Championship.

The Whites are not favourites to win against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who are going strong in the Premier League at the moment.
Playing at Anfield will also give the Reds an advantage, but as Whelan suggests, Leeds head coach Monk should give it a go.
Winning against fellow playoff contenders Villa next weekend is important, but Monk should not think that far ahead at the moment.
