Tottenham Hotspur played out a 1-1 draw with Leicester City away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson accused Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele on BBC Radio 5 live of taking too many touches of the ball against Leicester City on Saturday.

The Liverpool legend was not pleased with the Tottenham players not releasing the ball early during the Premier League encounter at the King Power Stadium.

Spurs’ search for their first league win of the season continued, as they played out a 1-1 draw with Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

Second-half substitute Dele Alli broke the deadlock in the 81st minute of the encounter when he turned in Nacer Chadli’s cross from close range.

However, Riyad Mahrez, who had earlier hit the post, restored parity for the Foxes just 90 seconds later with a fierce left-footed finish.

Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson was following the game, and he did not like the Spurs players taking too many touches of the ball.

“You just feel that every one of the Tottenham players is taking a touch too many at the moment,” the 58-year-old told BBC Radio 5 live during the game. “I’ve seen them play like this before.

“Mousa Demeble is the biggest culprit. If that boy just played two-touch football, what a player he would be.”
