Pundit criticises Harry Kane’s tackle on Raheem Sterling.

Garth Crooks has criticised Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane after his foul on Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.
Kane was booked for a late challenge on he City winger during Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat at The Etihad.
He did not find the scoresheet either, and Crooks told BBC Sport he felt Kane’s challenge was ‘appalling’.

Crooks said: “As for his lunge at Sterling – well, frankly, it was appalling and deserved a sending-off.
“I’m not suggesting it was deliberate but it did smack of a player doing a job not within his expertise. Spurs need Kane up the other end of the field scoring goals and not suffering the fear of suspensions doing other people’s jobs.”

Kane was not the only Spurs player who was lucky not to be sent off, with Dele Alli crunching Kevin De Bruyne with a high challenge.
De Bruyne dusted himself off and went straight up the other end to score City’s second.
It was a second straight game without a goal for Kane and his third blank in his last four.
Despite this he has a superb record of 12 in 17 Premier League games this season.
Up next Kane faces Burnley’s mean defence at Turf Moor.
