Garth Crooks hits out at Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Garth Crooks has criticised Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino after another poor result for the North London club.
Spurs drew 1-1 at home to West Bromwich Albion, following up last week’s 2-0 loss to rivals Arsenal.
After recently hoping to overtake Manchester United in second, Tottenham have now slipped to fifth place.
In between the results, Spurs recorded an impressive away win in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

Garth Crooks told BBC Sport he was disappointed by Pochettino’s comments after the game.
He said: “How disappointing to hear Mauricio Pochettino make such lame excuses about their performance. Travelling to Germany to play in a midweek Champions League fixture was once the most exciting prospect. Now he’s complaining about it?
“Kane seems to have a far more honest evaluation of his team’s efforts and suggested they were simply not good enough. I think that just about says it.”

He added that he was pleased with the effort of his players, but conceding early was a ‘massive hit’ after their midweek exploits.
The head coach had also told SkySports that the reality was playing at Wembley was different to White Hart Lane, but did not want to offer it as an excuse for the poor performance against West Brom.
