Micah Richards has swatted aside suggestions that Tottenham Hotspur should bring back Mauricio Pochettino on the Monday Night Club, which was broadcast by BBC Radio Five Live.

Tottenham have failed to win any of their last four Premier League matches, and Mourinho’s style of play has come into sharp focus as a result.

Spurs have thrown away leads against Wolves and Crystal Palace recently, after sitting back on a 1-0 lead.

Tottenham’s lack of attacking intent has badly hurt them, as oppositions sides have been able to build up momentum.

There have also been accusations that Tottenham have become rather dull to watch, due to their defensive mentality.

But Richards feel that Tottenham are better off sticking with Mourinho than going back to Pochettino.

“I heard a fan on the radio today say that they want Pochettino back because he played great football, but I think Mourinho – stick with him,” he said.

“I think he is doing a really good job. You would like to see him play a little bit more creatively, but you can only play with the players that you have.”

Tottenham’s chance of re-appointing Pochettino may have gone anyway.

The Argentine looks set to take charge at PSG, as he finally takes charge of a football club again, following his departure from Spurs over a year ago.

Mourinho is under no real pressure from Tottenham’s board at this current moment in time, either.

Spurs face four winnable games in their upcoming schedule, and if they can take maximum points, then Mourinho will silence his critics once again.
