There’s no doubt that Tanguy Ndombele has been one of Tottenham Hotspur’s best players this season.

It’s been a remarkable turnaround for the France international, who looked set to leave North London last summer after falling foul of Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

But any bad blood between the pair has evidently been cleared because Ndombele is playing like the £63 million that he is.

However, former Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy has found one criticism of the former Lyon powerhouse.

The 24-year-old scored arguably his side’s best goal of the season so far in a 3-1 win away to Sheffield United last weekend, lobbing the goalkeeper from a tight angle.

In doing so, Ndombele made it four goals in 24 games across all competitions this season.

And Murphy, writing in The Daily Mail, has suggested that he needs to add more strikes to his game, claiming: “I’ve seen them fail to see off teams too many times. The Fulham game was a perfect example — Fulham played well but Spurs didn’t have the quality to win. Tanguy Ndombele is the one midfielder who can see a killer pass but even he has only scored four goals in 24 games this season.”

Is he right? Well, yep.

It’s rare, but sometimes Son Heung-min and Harry Kane do have off-days and Mourinho needs somebody else to stand up and be counted.

And Ndombele, at £63 million, should be one of those players, but if he does add goals to his game then he’ll be unstoppable.
