Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur face a difficult November – and is backing Arsenal to beat them 2-0 on Sunday.

Out of form Spurs face the short trip to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as they take on Arsenal in yet another North London derby.

Tottenham are six games without a win in all competitions after the 1-0 midweek defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, and the North London derby has come at the worst possible time.

With just three goals in those six games, Spurs are going through a difficult period – but that certainly isn’t the case for opponents Arsenal.

Not only did the Gunners come from 2-0 down to beat Ludogorets 3-2 in their midweek Champions League clash, but they’ve dropped just two points in their last eight Premier League games.

With Manchester City drawing 1-1 at home to Middlesbrough, Arsenal can go top with a win against Tottenham – and that’s what Mark Lawrenson is backing them to do.

Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Arsenal will secure a convincing 2-0 win over Spurs on Sunday, in a result which would of course bring an end to Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

Lawrenson also believes that Tottenham face a difficult November as they face three London derbies as well as juggling their Champions League campaign, whilst adding that he doesn’t think Harry Kane will start on Sunday.

“November looks like a tough month for Tottenham, who face three London derbies against Arsenal (away), West Ham (home) and Chelsea (away), as well as trying to get out of their Champions League group,” said Lawrenson. “Spurs are struggling, having scored only one goal from open play in their past three league games, so it is a good time for them to get Harry Kane back from injury. Kane will be billed as their saviour, although I am not sure how much of him we will see against Arsenal because Mauricio Pochettino is not the type of manager who will rush anyone back.”

“Arsenal already have the likes of Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey available again and, apart from that blip when they were held at home by Middlesbrough, they are in excellent form. It is not a case of me being more convinced by the Gunners this season, because I am never unconvinced. It will be the latter part of the campaign that will be key for them, same as always. At the moment, though, everything is going Arsenal’s way. Spurs are still unbeaten in the Premier League, but I see that run ending this weekend,” he added.
