Can Aston Villa finish in the top six of the Championship this season?
Former Leeds United and Derby County striker Noel Whelan suggested on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds (broadcast from 6pm, November 11, 2016) that Aston Villa can make a push for the playoffs.
Whelen has suggested that the recent appointment of Steve Bruce as the manager has given Villa the chance to finish in the top six of the Championship table this season.

“I think they will (come good),” said the former Middlesbrough striker on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds (broadcast from 6pm, November 11, 2016).
“I think they have a good manager in Steve Bruce now. I don’t think he will take any nonsense from some of the players. He will get it right.”
Villa got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign and are currently playing in the Championship.
The Villans started the season badly and were in danger of missing out on the playoffs.

The former Premier League outfit’s form has improved under Bruce, and the team are 14th in the Championship table at the moment with 21 points from 16 matches.
Villa are five points behind Leeds, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.
Bruce’s side will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion away from home at the American Express Community Stadium in the Championship.
