Clinton Morrison has claimed that Arsenal forward, Gabriel Martinelli, is an ‘outstanding young talent’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
The former striker added that Martinelli, who recently earned his maiden Brazil call, has ‘so much pace’ to his game.
Under Mikel Arteta, life was a slow-burner for Martinelli, who was kept back by his manager, before being properly thrust into the limelight.
At the time, many questioned why the Arsenal boss wasn’t using the £6 million player (Goal) enough and now everyone can see why.
That level of patience and work behind the scenes is paying off, as Morrison lauded the player’s talents.
“He has always been outstanding,” said Morrison. “You always thought with Martinelli, can he play through the middle or out on the left?
“I think his best position is out on the left. You see Smith Rowe and think ‘he should be in the team somewhere’. But credit to Martinelli, he is keeping Smith Rowe out, at the moment.
“He has got so much pace. And he can finish. We saw his finish against Watford. He’s in great form. Just called up to the Brazil national team. Outstanding young talent.”

After Arsenal’s win over Leicester on Sunday, they now face their biggest test in their quest to reach the Champions League.
Liverpool will face-off against the Gunners at the Emirates on Wednesday night, which provides Arteta’s young guns with a chance to shine again.
Before heading off for Brazil duty, Martinelli will be hoping to show against one of the best teams in the world why there is so much talk about him.
But the 20-year-old isn’t the only one shining bright because Bukayo Saka is doing bits out on the right and Martin Odegaard has perhaps been Arsenal’s best player in recent months.
