Jermaine Beckford has told the Doing a Leeds podcast that the club’s new signing Rodrigo has an ‘unbelievable’ first touch.

The Spain international missed Leeds’ 4-1 defeat to Leicester City on Monday night because he had to self-isolate and Beckord admitted that the Yorkshire club ‘missed’ his qualities.

Whilst Rodrigo may not be a free-scoring attacker, one thing he does provide is great technical ability, a burst of pace, clever movement and the ability to bring others into the game.

Beckford, who also works as a pundit for the BBC, touched upon Rodrigo’s recent absence and the qualities he has in his locker.

“His first touch is unbelievable,” said Beckford. “His control and his movement is brilliant. His vision is great as well. And he’s mobile.

“That’s massive for the way we play and what we missed [on Monday against Leicester].”

It has been some return for Leeds following their promotion back to the big time and it could be argued they have been the most entertaining team in the division.

From their 4-3 ding-dong battle with Liverpool, winning by the same scoreline against Fulham, ending Aston Villa’s 100% record and Monday’s game.

It does seem as though a goalless draw will be a rarity in Yorkshire because either Leeds will rip their opponents apart, they will cause havoc against them or it will be an all-out goal-fest from both.
