Pat Nevin has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (3:27pm, April 4, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho was annoyed by Lucas Moura against Newcastle United.

The former Everton winger, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, made the comments about Moura while the Tottenham winger was being substituted in the second half against Newcastle.

The 28-year-old winger started the match and played for 64 minutes when Erik Lamela replaced him.

Nevin was on co-commentary duty for the match on BBC Radio 5 Live, and he believes that Moura had a quiet game.

The Scotsman praised the Brazilian for his qualities, but he said that the 28-year-old annoyed Mourinho today by not doing what he was being asked to.

Nevin said about Moura in the 64th minute of the match on BBC Radio 5 Live (3:27pm, April 4, 2021): “I think he annoyed his manager about five, 10 minutes ago, by not covering into the space. He had to cover that space. There was a little far too much of an area, and you can’t do that with Jose Mourinho.

“You can get away with it once, you can’t get away with it twice, and he has brought Lucas Moura off. And you are right, very quiet game for a player who is obviously an extremely talented player.”
