Garth Crooks has written on BBC Sport that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy should appoint Brendan Rodgers as the club’s new permanent manager.

The former Tottenham forward, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has said that Leicester City boss Rodgers is the only man for the managerial role at Spurs.

According to The Daily Mail, former Liverpool manager Rodgers is among the managerial candidates for the Spurs role.

Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “I might make Chelsea slight favourites for the FA Cup final but I’ve just got a funny feeling it might be Leicester and Brendan Rodgers’ year.

“However none of that must deter Tottenham Hotspur from trying to get Rodgers to fulfil their vacant managerial post. He’s the only man for the job right now.”

Brendan Rodgers to Tottenham Hotspur?

Rodgers is one of the best managers in the Premier League and is doing a wonderful job at Leicester at the moment.

The Foxes narrowly missed out on the Premier League top four last season, but this campaign, they appear set to finish in the Champions League places and will also contest the FA Cup final.

Rodgers would be a very good managerial appointment for Spurs and would be able to bring the best out of players.

Jamie Vardy is still going strong, while Kelechi Iheanacho is delivering the goods for the Foxes, and Rodgers must be given a lot of credit for that.

However, if Leicester finish in the top four this season, as they are expected to, then it is hard to see Rodgers leave the Foxes for Premier League rivals Spurs, especially if the North London club are unable to end up in the Champions League places.

After all, having guided Leicester to Champions League qualification, Rodgers would want to carry on and take the team to the European competition.
