Tottenham lost 1-0 to Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City after conceding to a Riyad Mahrez goal.
Spurs had a chance to equalise through Erik Lamela, while City’s David Silva missed an easy chance of his own when it seemed easier to score.
BBC pundit Chris Sutton offered a withering assessment of Tottenham’s performance.
He told BBC Sport: “This isn’t a confident Tottenham side. It is just not clicking.
“If Spurs go out of the League Cup in midweek with a limp against West Ham, there will be more questions asked.
“Do this team look like pushing for the title? They look miles off.”

Tottenham were without Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli who came on late, with manager Mauricio Pochettino balancing his squad carefully ahead of a League Cup tie with West Ham later this week.
Spurs did seem a bit overawed by City early, particularly full-back Kieran Trippier who struggled for the opener.
With better finishing, not helped by a bobbly pitch, Tottenham could easily have come away from the game with a draw, and that shows that they are not as far off City as Chris Sutton suggests.
