BBC Sport pundit Michael Brown has praised Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan for his performance for Manchester City against Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
The former City and Leeds player was impressed by how Gundogan, who has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window, scored the second goal today.
The German midfielder put the defending Premier League champions in the lead in the 19th minute.
The 32-year-old added a second on 27 minutes.
And BBC Sport pundit Brown was impressed.
According to a report in Spanish publication SPORT in March, Arsenal are trying to sign the midfielder on a free transfer.
Barcelona are also reportedly keen on the £165,000-a-week (SalarySport) star.

Praise for Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan during Manchester City vs Leeds United
Brown said on BBC Sport: “It’s a ridiculous goal again from City, the overloads are there, the way they move players around.
“Gundogan on to the edge of the area, good first touch and he gives the eye and sweeps it into the far post from 18 yards out.
“Robles can’t bring his weight back across. Top-quality finish. Gundogan again just joining in at the right time. Amazing.”
Impressive
Ilkay Gundogan was supposed to play as a defensive midfielder against Leeds United, but the way Sam Allardyce’s side sat back allowed the Manchester City to play in a more advanced role.
And he was superb.
The 32-year-old is one of the best players in the Premier League and is simply a brilliant player.
If Arsenal do manage to sign Gundogan at the end of the season, then the Gunners would be doing a very good piece of business, especially as he would be a free transfer.
