The BBC Sport pundit has been hugely impressed by the number of goals that Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn has scored from midfield.
McGinn has scored 17 goals in 57 appearances for Scotland so far in his career.
Former Scotland international striker and BBC Sport pundit Steven Thompson made the comments about McGinn while watching him in action against Cyprus on Friday evening.
The £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) Villa star provided an assist and scored a goal.
Scotland beat Cyrus 3-0 away from home in European Championship Qualifying Group A.

Thompson said about McGinn on BBC Sport: “That is a brilliant goal, a really good team goal.
“When it’s squared to John McGinn, there is only one thing on his mind. It’s not right in the corner, but the keeper wasn’t set because he hits it so quickly.
“What a return it is for Scotland, in terms of goals from midfield for McGinn. It’s frightening.”
