Glenn Murray has made a claim about David Moyes after the thrilling end to today’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and West Ham.
What’s the story?
Well, the 38-year-old was live on Final Score for the BBC when the east Londoners thought they had scored a late equaliser in west London thanks to Maxwel Cornet.
However, Jarrod Bowen was adjudged to have fouled Edouard Mendy just before the Ivory Coast international put the ball in the back of the net.
In the eyes of Murray, the 30-year-old Chelsea glovesman conned Andy Madley by exaggerating the contact, and feels Moyes will “go grey” as a result of that decision. If he hadn’t noticed, the Scot has already achieved that feat.
Nevertheless, the BBC man said: “Those are the decisions that make managers go grey. I feel as though Edouard Mendy has bought that from the referee. Jarrod Bowen catches Mendy ever so slightly, I think he realises he’s palmed it straight to a West Ham player and has stayed down.”
We agree.
Madley made a shocking decision in the 92nd minute of today’s clash, robbing West Ham of a crucial point.
For too long, goalkeepers have been overprotected in the Premier League – Mendy deserved to be punished for his late error, but he was given a lifeline by some horrendous officiating.
West Ham & David Moyes not the only ones
It is nothing new, but the standard of refereeing in the Premier League is surely at an all-time low.
Aside from West Ham and Moyes being robbed today, Newcastle also saw a goal disallowed against Crystal Palace after Joe Willock was adjudged to have fouled Vicente Guaita.

However, Tyrick Mitchell pushed the midfielder into the Spaniard. Somehow, Michael Salisbury felt the goal was an illegal one despite watching the incident numerous times on the VAR monitor.
Almost unbelievably, it seems as if the introduction of VAR has actually made the officials even worse.
Hopefully, something changes about the situation, as points are being robbed up and down the country.
