BBC journalist Kelly Somers revealed on Match of the Day Live that Leeds United Kalvin Phillips’ was praised by England fans after full-time yesterday.
The Leeds man put in a wonderful display, as England picked up a 1-0 victory.
His performance was eye catching, and he was one of the players selected for media duty after the game.
On his way round to be interviewed, some England fans had stuck around, and they could not help but encourage the Leeds United man after full-time.
“Kalvin as you walked over here, the fans that were still inside the stadium said ‘you were absolutely class’. That’s what our studio were saying as well,” Somers said, before her first question to Phillips.
Thank you, Kalvin Phillips

Those England fans rather summed up the mood of the nation.
Phillips’ selection had proved slightly controversial when the England team dropped, but Gareth Southgate was proved correct for trusting the 25-year-old.
In arguably the biggest game of his career, Phillips stepped up and proved his class.
He was the man who set up Raheem Sterling’s goal, which got England off to the perfect start.
Phillips will now surely start on Friday evening, when England take on Scotland.
