According to Bild, Bayern Munich are considering a move for Real Betis playmaker Giovani Lo Celso, who has been one of Tottenham’s top targets this summer.

Lo Celso, 23, hit 16 goals on loan at Betis from Paris Saint-Germain last season, and they unsurprisingly activated a purchase clause in his loan deal to sign him permanently.

The Argentinian has unsurprisingly attracted major interest, with Betis potentially cashing in early for a major profit this summer.

Tottenham have been heavily linked, and Estadio Deportivo reported just days ago that Lo Celso has asked Betis to let him go as he wants to join Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.

It would require a huge €75million (£67million) to sign Lo Celso, which has so far been an issue for Spurs, and now they seemingly face a new threat.

Bild claim that Bayern Munich have now registered an interest in signing Lo Celso, making him an alternative target to Celta Vigo’s Brais Mendez as they pursue a versatile creative and goalscoring player.

Bayern have been quiet in recent weeks, but they will be hunting creative players having lost Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and James Rodriguez this summer.

Lo Celso would fit as a replacement for Rodriguez, but not really out wide. He’s best as a central midfielder or number 10, meaning the interest is a little surprising.

Spurs may need to get in with an offer soon if they’re going to sign Lo Celso, and Pochettino won’t want to lose out on his signature to a major club in Bayern.
