Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic will face Bayern Munich in the Champions League next week.

Celtic have received a huge boost ahead of their Champions League match against Bayern Munich next week.
Brendan Rodgers’s side will take on German and European giants Bayern away from home at the Allianz Arena in Group B next Wednesday evening.
Javi Martinez has been ruled out of the game with a shoulder injury he sustained on Saturday afternoon.
The 29-year-old is a world-class footballer who can operate as a defensive midfielder or as a central defender.

The Spain international had to be substituted in the 70th minute of Bayern’s Bundesliga match against Freiburg on Saturday which they won 5-0.
Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes has ruled the former Athletic Bilbao star out of next week’s fixture against Celtic in Munich.
“Javi will miss the game against Celtic,” Heynckes is quoted as saying by The Scottish Sun. “It is a concern. He’s a tough boy and never usually asks to come off.”

Martinez is one of the best players in the world and is an important figure in the current Bayern team.
The injury to the Spaniard is a boost to Celtic’s chances of at least picking up a point at Bayern.
Although the Bavarian giants will still head into the match as favourites, the Bhoys’ chances of causing an upset have increased due to the confirmed absence of Martinez.
