Newcastle United’s potential takeover hasn’t even gone through yet, but they’re being heavily linked with a host of potential signings.
The £300million move from the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers has been dragging on, but a resolution could come soon.
Whenever that time comes, Newcastle will have huge money to spend. In recent weeks, links to big-name managers, players and directors have swarmed the media.
Over the weekend, a new rumour emerged. Bild claimed that Newcastle are interested in snapping up Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez this summer.
The Frenchman – who won the 2018 World Cup – only joined Bayern last summer. They paid the staggering €80million (£72million) release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract, handing him a huge move.
However, he has struggled with injuries this season. Additionally, Alphonso Davies has emerged as one of the top left backs in the world, diminishing Hernandez’s role.

Newcastle would surely have to pay huge money to sign the 24-year-old, and a move this soon into his Bayern career ultimately seems very unlikely.
Bayern fans have been taking to Twitter in order to react to the news, with some claiming that Newcastle need to pay around £100million to sign him.
Others merely laughed at the rumours, believing that Hernandez would turn down such a move and feel the idea of him heading to St James’ Park is a ‘joke’.
