Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche has said that Bayern Munich are interested in a transfer for Liverpool-linked forward Randal Kolo Muani.

At the end of March, Eurosport had reported the only bids in excess of £88 million will be accepted by the German giants to let the Frenchman leave.

It seems as if Liverpool could now be set to compete with Bayern Munich to secure a transfer for Randal Kolo Muani in the summer.

Bayern set to rival Liverpool in transfer battle for Kolo Muani

The 24-year-old is having an impressive season in the German top-flight, with 13 goals and 10 assists to his name up until now.

It seems as if the Reds target is destined for big things in the game, with Bundesliga’s official website saying his style of play is comparable to that of Thierry Henry’s.

While by the sounds of it, a transfer involving Randal Kolo Muani would be perfect for Liverpool, the Frankfurt director of football has acknowledged the interest from Bayern Munich.

“Of course, Randal has attracted attention with his performances. It’s normal that a club like Bayern is also interested in him”

“Bayern is not the only club that is interested in him. But there have not been any concrete enquiries yet, neither from Bayern nor from others”, he said, as quoted by Sky journalist Florian Plettenburg.

Unless Bayern decide to look elsewhere instead of targeting a transfer for Randal Kolo Muani, there is little to no chance that Liverpool sign him.

While Thomas Tuchel’s side themselves could be set for a trophyless season, at least they have managed to compete on all fronts.

The same cannot be said for the Reds, as there remains a looming question mark about whether they will ever get back to their best under Jurgen Klopp.
