Bayern Munich have reportedly opened talks with VfB Stuttgart star and rumoured Tottenham target Sasa Kalajdzic, with Robert Lewandowski’s future in Bavaria up in the air.

According to Sport Bild, the Bundesliga champions are working behind the scenes to draw up a shortlist of names who could replace the Polish superstar should Lewandowski leave Bayern this summer, with Kalajdzic in the running as well as a player the club are in talks with.

As per the report, the Austrian international has been in on-and-off talks with Bayern since January, with Stuttgart open to selling Kalajdzic this summer for just €20m (£17m), and Tottenham are also keen on the striker.

Kicker have recently reported that the 24-year-old is being eyed by Fabio Paratici, with Kalajdzic a likely option to either act as back-up for Harry Kane or even replace the England captain should the striker depart north London.

Hailed as ‘phenomenal’ by Stuttgart boss Pellegrino Matarazzo, Kalajdzic is viewed by many as a striker with all the physical qualities needed to flourish on the biggest level, which would explain Bayern’s interest in the forward.

Standing at a massive 6’7″, Kalajdzic has the potential to become a superstar at a top club like Bayern, and for Tottenham, their recent talks with the striker are a big problem for the Premier League side.

With Stuttgart open to selling Kalajdzic this summer and both Tottenham and Bayern chasing the towering attacker, the north London side will be hoping to edge out the German giants for the 24-year-old.

After all, Kalajdzic ticks a lot of boxes for what Antonio Conte wants in a striker, and with Tottenham lacking in quality cover for Kane, the Austrian international is perfect if Spurs can beat Bayern to the Bundesliga star.
