Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw by Bayern Munich last night.
Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac spoke to reporters after his side’s 0-0 Champions League draw with Liverpool last night, and raved about the quality of Jürgen Klopp’s side, labelling them as a ‘sensationally good team’, as quoted by the Mirror.
It was a cagey affair between the Reds and the German giants at Anfield last night, and the tie is now evenly poised heading into next month’s second-leg at the Allianz Arena.
Liverpool were far from their scintillating best, but they remain very much in the tie, although they will face a tough task in Munich in three weeks time.
Klopp’s men are more than capable of causing the Bavarians problems, however.
Bayern boss Kovac spoke to reporters after last night’s game, and shared his delight at the fact that his team kept Liverpool from scoring, as quoted by the Mirror:
“I can’t remember that many clubs that have not lost and not conceded at Anfield. Liverpool, they are a sensationally-good team.”
Liverpool’s focus will now return to the Premier League, with a tough trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United next up on the agenda.
And Klopp’s side will have to be at their very best, if they are to take maximum points against a resurgent United side.
