Liverpool could be set to lose one of their best players on a free transfer.

Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes addressed the media ahead of his side’s clash against Borussia Dortmund today, and declared his admiration for Reds ace Emre Can, as quoted by Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato.
The 23-year-old is out of contract with Liverpool in the summer, and has already been heavily linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Germany international has been one of Jürgen Klopp’s most consistent performers this season, chalking up a goal and two assists in 13 appearances for his club so far this term.

There will be more concern for Reds fans concerning Can, however, following Heynckes’ comments today.
The 72-year-old addressed the media during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s Bundesliga clash with Dortmund today, and admitted that he is a huge fan of the Liverpool ace, as quoted by Calcio Mercato:
“I coached Emre for a few months here at Bayern 5 years ago. Now he has developed into a great player, very physical and powerful, I like him a lot. We have to remember that there is always a certain criteria when you are signing a player if you want to return to the top”

Klopp and Liverpool will surely do all they can to hold onto the former Bayer Leverkusen man, but their decision may very well be taken out of their hands, if the player himself refuses to sign a new deal at Anfield.
