The former Bayern Munich midfielder appears to be comfortably settling into life at Manchester United.
Manchester United’s signing of Germany superstar Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich was a move that caught many people unawares, with plenty of pundits dismissing it as a move that would never happen when word first emerged of its possibility.
However, it looks like the player himself was more than itching to make the move, and his broad smile since arriving in Manchester, and as he trains with his new teammates while they train in the US, surely indicates his mood at having made such a high-profile switch.
On Thursday, Schweingsteiger posted a picture on his Instagram account with a one word hashtag to seemingly celebrate his new-found excitement at his upcoming career at Old Trafford.
Having come through the Bayern youth team, Schweinsteiger is one of the most decorated German players of the last 20 years, winning an astonishing eight Bundesliga titles, seven DFB Cups, a Champions League trophy, and of course last year’s World Cup.
With United being without a trophy of any kind in the last two seasons, a rare occurrence in their own proud history, there is every reason why Old Trafford supporters may be just as happy with Schweinsteiger as he seems to be with his decision to move.
