According to a report in The Daily Record, Rangers are open to selling Barrie McKay in the summer transfer window.
McKay has been at Rangers his entire professional club career so far and has a contract with the Glasgow giants until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 22-year-old winger is among a number of players who is on manager Pedro Caixinha’s list to be sold by the Gers in the summer, according to the report.
The Daily Record has also claimed that Rangers want £2 million as transfer fee in order to part company with the Scotland international.
Former Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson has given his take on the situation, claiming that it would be a mistake to sell McKay.

“But, incredibly in my opinion, McKay is one of the names on the list, as revealed by Record Sport this week, for sale,” Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record.
“And for £2million? I know he only has a year left on his deal but I’m surprised at that. I don’t believe that is his true market value.
“Rangers should be trying to tie the 22-year-old down and making him in integral part of their future plans. So the news he is free to go was a shock to me.”
“If you get a bit of consistency out of him McKay can be a real asset,” added Ferguson. “So Rangers should be looking to tie him down instead of moving him on.
“The fact he is a homegrown player is a big factor. It’s not the only thing – you need ability first and foremost – but fans can relate to it.”

McKay is a talented and promising young winger, and it would be wise of Rangers to keep hold of him.
The 22-year-old has a bright future ahead of him, and the Gers should consider him as a important part of the team.
