Celtic suffered European heartache on Tuesday and Rangers will be hoping to avoid a similar type of upset during their Europa League qualifier.

Barry Ferguson has warned Rangers against complacency in Europe after Celtic suffered a surprise defeat during their Champions League qualifier against CFR Cluj on Tuesday night.
Added with that, Ferguson also claimed that with the summer transfer still open for those in Scotland, the Gers are still lacking one more striker.
Steven Gerrard’s side take on FC Midtjylland on Thursday evening, where a draw or a win during their second leg encounter against the Danish side will ensure their passage through to the Europa League group stages.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer’s official YouTube account (14/08/2019), former midfielder Ferguson commented on potential Rangers complacency after what happened with their rivals Celtic.
“No certainly, not after what happened with Celtic,” Ferguson told PLZ Soccer. “Steven Gerrard will be getting into his players about that. Looking at the first leg, Rangers should beat them. You have seen that they have scored two goals against Rangers, so you always have to be wary of that.
“I think Rangers are in a good place, at this moment in time. They look strong when they are attacking. They just need to make sure they shut up shop at the back. But going on form, Rangers should go through.
On potential Rangers transfers: “Regarding players, I still think they are probably one short and that is upfront. I don’t think you can go the full season with only two recognised strikers. I think that is one area he [Gerrard] will be looking to strengthen. [But], at this moment in time, I think Rangers squad is looking good.”

If Rangers do find themselves in sticky water on Thursday then they have the cushion of a two-goal lead against their opponents and those four away goals.
So, it will have to take a serious almighty collapse from Gerrard’s side on Thursday to stop them from progressing in Europe.
The game will provide Rangers with another chance to showcase their attacking prowess as they have been pretty strong in the attacking third since the season began.
